In this edition of “Hymns for the Poor of the Flock” from 1841 (see also here: https://books.google.com/books?id=zsVVAAAAcAAJ) there is a note before the title-page which says:

Is anything known about this tune book? (Exact title? Year?)

Can anyone provide an exemplar?

It seems that this note about a tune book was not yet in the older editions (1839, 1840) of “Hymns for the Poor of the Flock”.
