John Nelson Darby held services in this building in the early 1830's. At the time it was a schoolhouse, in recent years it was a cafe, but now it is a private residence.

I think this should read "mid to late 1820s" rather than "early 1830s". JND was ministering as a curate in Calary from 1825 to 1827 when he had a riding accident in ?November. After that he seems to have been a freelance evangelist,working for example in Corofin, County Clare in February 1829 and Cloughjordan in County Tipperary. In 1830 he was in Paris for a time and also visited London, Cambridge, Oxford and Scotland... The days in Calary were at the very beginning of his ministry. Timothy Stunt

I've been recently told by a "pilgrim" to this part of Wicklow (who has studied a lot of ancient maps etc, that this is not the actual building where JND held services, but that the place was much closer to the present C of I Church in Calary (up the R755 road about approx three miles further south), and there is no physical remains standing of the old 1820's church and School House --only the field in which they stood.
