Thank you BrethrenArchive for placing our dear late brother E.W.Roger's book, 'Concerning the Future' for our free access. I was re-reading his book titled, 'The Revelation and Future Events', being a Precious Seed Publications in 2011 reprint of his early works in 1971. He referred us readers to this book on pg. 23 for greater insight into his thoughts concerning the prophesies contained in Daniel.

God bless all of you richly!! Maranatha!

Love in Christ,

In the biography of Stephen Olford, entitled "Only One Life" by John Philips there is an interesting story in Chapter 7 when Stephen conducted an evangelistic campaign in an Assembly which had a combination of 'open' and 'tight' leaders. Dr Frederick Tatford was a leader of the open element, and EW Rogers of the 'tight' element. There were many young people converted at the beginning and they attended the Breaking of Bread on the first Sunday morning, "improperly attired", girls without head covering, etc and EW wanted them sent away until they were better instructed. Tatford rejected this, and for the two or three weeks of the mission EW attended but 'sat at the back' and said nothing, but evidently out of favour with much of what was going on. On the last night, the record says, "Stephen spoke on The Love of God, and then gave the invitation to come forward to receive Christ. The first to come down the isle was EW Rogers son - the black sheep of the family! Mr Rogers buried his face in his hands and wept like a baby. His heart had been broken. He came up to Stephen later, shook his hand and apologised. They became the best of friends".

I only heard EW Rogers speak once, when I was a boy (some 60 years ago) and I remember him saying 'I have three and a half dozen children'. A clever way of saying "9". I found some recordings of his on line a while ago and listened to a few. He was highly regarded by many.

My parents were in fellowship in Wallington and knew EW and his family well. They were there at the time of the Olford meetings but my mother had no recollection of the supposed difficulty.
