She was born c.1822 in Ceuta, an autonomous city of Spain located on the North African side of the Strait of Gibraltar, then part of Morocco. She lived with Miss F. J. Elwood at 11 Crescent Grove, Clapham Common and is buried with her in the same plot at Streatham Park Cemetery, Rowan Road, Streatham Vale, SW16 5JG, Grave No and Class H 930, Block 0.
It's definitely 'Ceuta' from the place of her birth. Ceuta is an autonomous city of Spain located on the North African side of the Strait of Gibraltar, and is claimed by Morocco. When she was born there it was under the control of Morocco and so one census gives her birthplace as 'Morocco'. The other spellings are merely misreadings of handwriting that have become accepted in various printed biographies. Her father was not T[homas] H[inde] Thompson but Charles Thompson (c.1774-1848) Lieutenant-Colonel, 27th (Enniskillen) Regiment of Foot. As far as I can ascertain, T. H. Thompson (1834-1905) was not related but he was associated with Brethren. He was a neighbour of the Wellesleys and was the contact brother for Roselle Room, Bank Street, Great Malvern in the 1880 List of Meetings, which is still in use. He took the committal of Miss Ora Rowan in 1879 where she is buried in the Great Malvern Cemetery.
