George Rymer was born near to Scarborough in Yorkshire (probably why he maintained an interest there - and wrote later "Another appeal. To Brethren meeting in Bar Street, Scarborough").
At the age of 29, he married Rebecca Tindall, 11 years his senior. The 1861 census has him still living at East Ayton and listed as a Ship Owner. Before the 1861 census they had moved to Nottinghamshire where he owned a nursery and worked as a gardener. After Rebecca's death in 1889, he married Harriet Lousia Taylor (nee ?), a widow from Guernsey. He himself died in Guernsey in 1899.
