Marty said ...
“By Life or By Death”
(Five martyrs’ wives speak)
By Lois Reynolds Carpenter

WE GAVE our dearest. Now we stand alone.
Alone, yet not alone—for even this
We know the grace of God sufficient is;
And oh! how safely He will keep His own.
Now we are left to carry on for these—
Their tasks as well as ours to complete.
We dare not falter, Lord. Help ws to meet
Each challenge and to triumph on our knees.
May choice young lives go forth to take their place;
To win for Jesus in those far-off parts—
Perhaps the very ones who broke our hearts.
God grant the Aucas yet may tell His grace!
By life or death may Christ be magnified;
Our dear ones then in vain will not have died.
