An interesting perspective on the dispensations in this edition—for those who look into this topic. I don’t think the author was looking to “systematise” dispensationalism; rather to show God working in “the portions or pieces” through the ages, and how each ended, showing man’s failure. Donald Ross was the editor; perhaps also the author? 1. The first is Innocency 2. The second is lawlessness, corruption and violence 3. The third is Noahic or characterised by order and justice 4. The fourth is Abrahamic 5. The fifth begins with the giving out of the Law 6. The sixth is that of God speaking by His Son—the crucifixion ended this 7. The seventh began with Pentecost 8. The eighth begins with God’s dealings with earth in absence of the Church and the Holy Spirit 9. The ninth begins with the casting of the devil into the abyss 10. The tenth begins with the loosing of the devil again 11. The eleventh begins, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth”—eternal life or eternal death
