On (print) page 133, John Brown calls into question the interpretation that the “great house” of 2 Timothy 2:20 is a metaphor for Christendom. Is this the earliest instance (in print) of this differing interpretation from a “brethren” writer? I am trying to trace when, and by whom, that was first taught.
