Began in 1891 at 51 Paternoster Row, don't know if lasted beyond the untimely death of W.G.W. in 1914. Moved to 17 Paternoster Row in 1896 after buying business of J.E. Hawkins & Co.
See comments, and also Walter Gidley Wheeler
Does anyone know anything about this publisher, or the man behind it? Some of their items are inscribed with "Successors to J.E.Hawkins & Co." .. Operated out of 17 Paternoster Row. Began circa 1895 maybe.
Something of the origin of the business can be found from this extract from Footsteps of Truth 1891. I think the reference to 21 P.R. maybe a mistake as in an 1895 directory he was listed at 51 & 52 P.R. I guess some time after this he moved to 17 P.R. and took over James Hawkins business.
This note in F.O.T. 1896 gives the point when he took over J.E.H.
