Hi, Does anyone know if guitar chords are available in printed form for the hymns in the original Believers Hymn book published by Pickering & Inglis?
THanks

Robert, not as far as I am aware, unless someone has produced something recently.
I didn't think guitars had been invented when the original Believers Hymnbook was published. In fact, the hymnbook might even predate the possessive apostrophe.
@Crawford,
I think there is little doubt that the antiquity of the guitar goes back to ancient times. Recognisable guitars were certainly used in XVII century Spain, with similar precursors in the previous century at least. Etymologically the word itself is appears in Nebuchadnezzar's Multicultural grand Symphony Orchestra in Daniel 3:5. qitharos: (Lyre, Harp, Zither) Original Word: קִיתָרֹס
I don't know when the Guitar first became popular in England.
As to guitar popularity in England, it was a well enough known instrument by the late 1860s when Edward Lear informs us that it was played by the Owl when serenading the Pussycat in his famous poem "The Owl and the Pussycat"
